Due to increasing demand, the dependency on imported seeds is high, and the production of domestic seeds has not reached the desired level. Despite Nepal's geographical diversity, the situation of vegetable seed production remains limited. Imported seeds from Nepal's neighboring countries dominate the market, and this has created a challenge for Nepal to become self-sufficient in vegetable seeds. To address this issue, this book, titled "Scientific Methods of Vegetable Seed Production," has been prepared.
This book explains the scientific and simple aspects of vegetable seed production. Topics covered in the book include seed production of 51 types of vegetables, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, and spinach. Various efforts have been made in Nepal to manage and promote vegetable seed production by applying scientific methods and research-based farming practices. The book is prepared to support farmers, agricultural professionals, and vegetable seed producers to make vegetable seed production easier and more efficient.
